Israeli Population in Judea, Samaria, and Jordan Valley Increases by Almost 3% in 2023

Every year, the Yesha Council publishes a population report of the residents in the communities and towns of Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley.

As of January 2024, the Israeli population of approximately 150 communities in Judea, Samaria, and the Jordan Valley stands at 517,407.

As you may recall, the half million mark was crossed in October, 2022.

Most of the residents reside in the Binyamin region.

Percentage of growth

The Jordan Valley Regional Council experienced the greatest percentage increase (5.2%), with the local council listed as having the highest growth percentage being Emanuel (7.4%), and Ma'ale Amos in eastern Gush Etzion as the community with the highest percentage increase (24.5%).
Likewise, the Beit El Council experienced an increase of 3.8%, thanks to newcomers to its new neighborhood.

Shlomo Ne’eman, Mayor of the Gush Etzion Regional Council and Chairman of the Yesha Council delivered words of congratulations: “Living in Judea and Samaria is one of the most important and meaningful things to do in order to secure the future of the Jewish people in the land of our forefathers. With every new community established, and every new home built, we maintain our hold on the land of our forefathers and add another vital layer to the building of the nation. This data is additional proof that there is great demand for cities, kibbutzim, and other communities. Young families of all demographics are increasingly choosing to make this area home. I am glad to see the growth in the various communities, especially in Ma'ale Amos, a young community in eastern Gush Etzion, which has been flourishing in recent years and caters to families who want to make their home in a quality community environment. We appeal to the government and its leader to end the moratorium and convene a meeting of the Supreme Planning Council to approve thousands of additional residential units to cater for the huge demand. Any apartment not planned for this year, will not be built within the next three years. The government of Israel and its leader need to understand that we have reached the stage that the enemy will encounter a reaction, not only in Gaza and Lebanon, but also in Judea and Samaria. ”Depart from evil and do good.” Depart from evil means to eliminate the Nazi enemy. Do good  is the expansion, regulation, and strengthening of these communities.”
