Following considerable effort and extensive activity on the part of Yesha Council and the relevant authorities in various government ministries, the Civil Administration and the National Roads Company of Israel (Netivei Yisrael), a road bypassing Huwara was paved. The road was planned before the Oslo Accords, and its advancement in terms of detailed planning and implementation began more than five and a half years ago following Government Resolution 358 dated 5 August 2015 when the first planning funds were allocated for the Huwara bypass and al-Arub bypass roads. Since then, a great deal of work has been done to move the projects forward and remove barriers, and the earthworks have finally begun on the road, which is due to open in about two years. In addition, NIS 50 million has been added by the Ministry of Transportation to widen the road, which will become a two-lane highway in each direction.
